The major upgrade rumored to be in the iPhone 16 is a new A18 chip with 8GB of ram to enable the support of Apple Intelligence, the company's artificial intelligence software.
9to5Mac reported in March that the new chip had been designed to support on device artificial intelligence.
The new models are said to be gaining an action button, replacing the iPhone 15's mute toggle that had been previously incorporated into the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
The premium iPhone tier is set to see larger screens and a solution to the previous model's heat management problems.
9to5Mac reports that the iPhone 16 Pro could see the same 5x zoom tetraprism camera that is currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported in November that the company was planning an overhaul to the wireless earbud offering and 9to5Mac suggested that the results of the shake up are due Monday.
The operating system was revealed at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June where Apple showed that the system would integrate Apple Intelligence.
