Applesauce Cake

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves).

Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, beat together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, applesauce, oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan on a wire rack.

Make the Frosting (optional): In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon, mixing until fluffy.

Frost the Cake: Once the cake is completely cooled, spread the cream cheese frosting on top if desired.

Serve: Slice and enjoy your delicious applesauce cake! Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
