1. Use precooked chicken for the filling. If you want to save time, choose your favorite grocery store rotisserie chicken that has great flavor.
Alternatively, you could roast a chicken to customize the flavor. Shred or chop all parts of the chicken before adding it to the filling mixture.
2. Get creative with the dish's seasonings. For an extra flavorful chicken cobbler, incorporate a variety of dried herbs or spices into the filling.
Thyme, rosemary and sage can add [an earthy] depth, while a pinch of paprika or cayenne pepper can give it a subtle kick.
3. Grate the butter for an extra flaky biscuit topping. If the recipe calls for making a homemade biscuit topping, shred the cold butter using a box grater before mixing it with the flour.
This trick creates little knobs of butter that incorporate well into the dough and result in flaky layers in the biscuit topping.
Simply freeze the pre-measured amount of butter for 30 minutes and then it's ready to grate.
